Chocolat malt - application

 

Chocolat malt is a heavily roasted malt with a deep brown color. It is used to darken the color and brings aromas of roasted and nuts. This malt is similar to Black malt, but it has less bitterness and is lighter - it is roasted for a shorter time and at a lower temperature.

It gives the beer a nutty, roasted taste and is used to regulate the color of the beer.

It is ideal for brewing beers such as brown, strong, dark and black beers such as porters, stouts and brown beers.

Chocolat malt can be used for up to 7% of the grain bill.

Chocolat malt storage

Chocolat malt should be stored in a clean, cool (<22°C), dry, odorless and pest free area. Then, the time in which unopened packages can be stored is 3 months for kibbled malt, and 24 months for non-kibbled malt.

Be careful not to let the malt come into contact with hot surfaces and not to inhale the malt dust.

Milling malt

We offer the possibility of milling any malt available in our store. You can choose whether the malt should be milled or not before adding the malt to the cart.

We can also grind the malt for mashing in an automatic kettle (Brewster Beacon, Klarstein, Coobra, etc.). If you want your malt to be milled in this way (coarser) - let us know about it in the comment to the order for milled malt.
